Bathing your ferret
You should only bathe your ferret once every several months. Frequent bathing can lead to problems, such as dry skin and will strip the oils from their skin and fur. Once the oils are stripped, they’re bodies will replenish the oils which results in more of an odor. Be sure to use a shampoo specifically labeled for use on ferrets. We recommend Marshall’s Tea Tree Shampoo or Baking Soda Shampoo. If your ferret enjoys bath time, let them swim around but do not use shampoo on a regular basis.
If you’re trying to reduce a ferrets musky odor, be sure to keep their bedding clean and change it on a weekly basis. We recommend using Marshall premium ferret litter. To treat your ferrets odor internally, use Marshall Bi-Odor on a daily basis. A few pumps in your ferrets water a day keeps the odor away.
